Aust/NZ Neonatal Network Data Capture Project
Intersect has completed work on a web-based data collection system for the Australian and New Zealand Neonatal Network (ANZNN). This allows ANZNN contributors to submit their data to ANZNN via either a web form or bulk upload, with full validation at time of entry.
The system provides the following benefits:
• ensures all data is valid at time of entry
• speeds up data entry
• reduces manual administrative work
• allows administrators to easily track the status of submissions.
Australian and New Zealand Neonatal Network (ANZNN) is a collaborated data collection network of neonatal intensive care units (NICUs) and neonatal units (NUs) to monitor the care of high-risk newborn infants. As the complexity of data integration is rapidly increasing (more NICUs and NUs joining the network and more combinations of research interests), traditional data collection methods have become untenable.
The ANZNN DCP project has developed a data collection web service interface for Australian and New Zealand Neonatal Network (ANZNN), which collects data through its member network of neonatal intensive care units (NICUs) and neonatal units (NUs) in Australia and New Zealand. Data collected through this network are used primarily to provide quality assurance of this type of care. The ANZNN Data Capture Project (ANZNN DCP) includes complete data entry application which comprises web service interface, data validation software, and data repository components. ANZNN DCP provides a web service interface to facilitate secured data uploading, data verification and feedback to the NICU and NU data providers, in order to set a data collection standard and to improve the process of the data collection.
This project is supported by the Australian National Data Service (ANDS). ANDS is supported by the Australian Government through the National Collaborative Research Infrastructure Strategy Program and the Education Investment Fund (EIF) Super Science Initiative.
