Intersect is a research support company, focussing on “eResearch”; the use of advanced ICT methods to enable and enhance research methods. Intersect undertakes a range of projects across disciplines as part of our service to members. These projects are selected for their high strategic value.
To meet the growing demand for our services in NSW we’re seeking energetic and bright professionals for 12 month contracts.
These roles will be working on a project at AustLII, a joint facility of the UTS and UNSW Faculties of Law. AustLII is Australia's most popular online free-access resource for Australian legal information, serving the needs of a multitude of users with over 900,000 hits daily. Its broad public policy agenda is to improve access to justice through better access to information. To that end, they have become one of the largest sources of legal materials on the net, with over four million searchable documents.
Essential:
- tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Computer Science or Bioinformatics;
- up to 5 years software development experience;
- strong Perl skills;
- experience of full software development life cycle;
- knowledge of software testing procedures including experience in unit testing;
- permanent resident of Australia or Australian citizen.
Highly Desirable:
- experience with business analysis and gathering of user requirements;
- experience with using revision management / configuration control systems such as Subversion or Git;
- bug tracking systems such as Jira, Bugzilla, etc.
- exposure to other languages e.g. Python, Ruby or Java
