University of Western Sydney

University of Western Sydney (UWS) joined Intersect in August 2010.

eResearch Analyst

Peter Bugeia is the lead of the team of Intersect eResearch Analysts working at UWS. Peter works on site at the Penrith (Kingswood) Campus, with regular visits to the other UWS campuses and to Intersect’s office in Kent St Sydney.

Regardless of whether you are a UWS researcher, a researcher from another institution, or in an eResearch support role, Peter is very happy to meet with you to discuss your eResearch needs and explore opportunities for collaboration with UWS and Intersect.

eResearch Capability Team

The UWS eResearch Capability was established in 2011.  The purpose of the team is to support researchers in their endeavours by improving research outcomes through better use of technology and business solutions.  Functions of the Capability include:

•    Working with Information Technology Services (ITS) and external suppliers to provide sophisticated computing technology options and solutions for researchers, eg: HPC, virtual and hosted environments.

•    Facilitating effective research data management planning, data storage, security and reuse.

•    Facilitating sharing and collaborative development of research technology tools between institutions.

•    Helping to integrate technology support for researchers within pre-existing ITS support models.

The team is still being established. It consists of: Capability Manager (Vacant);  Technical Adviser (Andrew Leahy); eResearch Analyst (Peter Bugeia); Technical Support Officer (Vacant).
